Campaign Filters

Impressions

unique impression is an impression that does not have the same IP address as any other impression found within a specific time frame specified in the settings. Campaigns may be configured to record affiliate’s unique impressions instead of total impressions. When enabled, only unique impressions will be counted in the Impressions column in reports.  The uniqueness of an impression can be valid for days, hours, or minutes.

Clicks

unique click is a consumer click from a computer that does not contain a cookie on it. A click is only considered unique if a cookie is not found for the campaign on the consumer’s computer.  Campaigns can be configured to combine or separate unique and duplicate clicks.  When the setting to separate unique from duplicate clicks is enabled, all unique clicks are recorded in the Click column and all duplicate clicks are recorded in the Duplicate Clicks column.

The referrer is the address of the webpage that linked to the campaign's tracking link.  LinkTrust captures and stores the referrer for each click.  Campaigns may be configured to record a click as a duplicate if this field is blank.

Additionally, there is a setting to filter duplicate clicks by IP Address.  If this is enabled, you can choose how long the filter is valid for and where the traffic will be redirected.  The filter can be valid for days, hours, or minutes.  Filtered traffic can be redirected to the following locations:

  • 403 Forbidden Page
  • Campaign
    • Propagate cookie parameter: if the cookie parameter (c=0) is present in the tracking link, this value will be passed on to the new campaign.
    • Propagate tracking parameter: if the tracking parameter (t=0) is present in the tracking link, this value will be passed on to the new campaign.
    • Propagate additional data: if any additional data (name=value) is present in the tracking link, those values will be passed on to the new campaign.
  • URL
    • Propagate additional data: if any additional data (name=value) is present in the tracking link, those values will be passed on to the URL.
  • Landing Page
    • Write cookie: a cookie will be created for the filtered traffic.
  • Redirect.com

Blocked Clicks

  • 403 Forbidden Page
  • Campaign
    • Propagate cookie parameter: if the cookie parameter (c=0) is present in the tracking link, this value will be passed on to the new campaign.
    • Propagate tracking parameter: if the tracking parameter (t=0) is present in the tracking link, this value will be passed on to the new campaign.
    • Propagate additional data: if any additional data (name=value) is present in the tracking link, those values will be passed on to the new campaign.

Cap Redirect

traffic cap is a limit to the number of conversions or amount of revenue that can be generated.  If a click comes in after the traffic cap has been reached, you can redirect that traffic to following locations:

  • Redirect.com

The Edit Cap button will open the campaign level traffic caps in a new window.

Geo-Targeting

By default, a campaign will be authorized to track in all countries.  This section lets you identify authorized and unauthorized countries that the campaign may receive transactions from.  Traffic from the unauthorized countries will be redirected to one of the following locations:

    • Write cookie to track conversions: a cookie will be created for the filtered traffic.
  • Redirect.com

If at least one country is unauthorized, the option to select Specific Unauthorized Country Redirects will appear.  This allows you to specify a specific redirect location based off the unauthorized country that the traffic is coming from.  The locations available for the Specific Unauthorized Country Redirects are:

  • Redirect.com
  • 403 Forbidden Page

Conversions

This section has settings that will restrict when a conversion will be tracked or approved to reduce conversion fraud. By default, none of the following options are enabled.

  • Unapprove transactions when the Click and Conversion IP's don't match.
  • Unapprove transactions when the IP is from a public Proxy.
  • Unapprove transactions when the Click to Conversion time is less than a given interval that can be measured in minutes or seconds.
  • Do not track transactions with Duplicate Merchant Reference ID's within the last 90 days (makes Merchant Reference ID required).
  • Unapprove transactions when the Confirmation Page domain does not match a given list.

Promo Code

The Promo Code section allows you to better manage your promotional codes for the campaign.  This feature applies to all affiliates assigned to the campaign. You have the choice to unapprove transactions or not track transactions with specific promotional codes based on your white list or black list.

For example, there are three valid promotional codes for this campaign. You want to restrict all other promotional codes from being used. Under Promo Code, the option would read as follows:

Unapprove transactions when Promo Code is not (White List) one of the following: enter the valid promo codes in the field.

Now only transactions with the specified promotional code are approved for the campaign. By default, all transactions without a promotional code are always approved. This feature only applies to transactions with a promotional code.

Note: Each promotional code must be entered on a separate line.
Note: Creating a promo code black list here disables your affiliate promo code white list created on the affiliate-campaign page for this campaign.

In order for the promo code to work, you must place this parameter in the confirmation pixel: promocode=(Promo Code being used).
